THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE BRAND
Dear Denier [di(e)r de'ni(e)r]
Dear Denier was founded in 2012 by Danish Katrine Drost Lewinsky. Katrine worked for 15 years in the fashion industry for several big fashion brands before founding Dear Denier.
While working with sales Katrine visited many stores in Scandinavia and being a tights-girl she always needed to buy new tights when on the road. However, it was impossible to find brands with values and products matching the needs and mindset of Katrine when she was looking for fashionable, functional and durable hosiery produced responsibly. This was the start of Dear Denier.
Today, Dear Denier represents a modern generation of hosiery that challenge the industry's status quo through functional, comfortable and durable products made responsibly with thought for people and planet.
MEET THE FOUNDER
“I DREAM OF A CIRCULAR FUTURE NOW”
I have a dream about a healthy future. A future where consumers and manufacturers agree that the climate crisis is real and something we can solve by standing together and make the right decisions. Not driven by capital but by purpose and a desire to do the right thing.
The consumption of clothing in general is unhealthy, but especially the way we buy and consume nylon hosiery is decidedly unsustainable. This has been the case for more than 60 years. Hosiery was once a luxury good made of silk, made to last. Now, hosiery has become the fashion industry’s single-use plastic product and for more than 80% of consumers a product we buy alongside our groceries. Without giving it a second thought.
We want to challenge this and create durable tights in high quality, that have as little negative impact on the planet as possible. And when they are worn-out, we must be able to recycle them into new tights.

when we get feedback from customers.
Our Italian factories are highly specialized and technological OEKO-TEX®-certified zero-waste factories powered by mainly ny renewable energy. They continuously invest in sustainable solutions and work systematically to reduce their environmental footprint, i.e. by purifying all wastewater from production, using systems for responsible management of energy and water consumption and specializing in the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.
